Ralph Williams works exclusively with wood, and specialises in bird sculptures, having previously worked at the Department of Ornithology at the Natural History Museum.
He now lives on the moors on the north coast of Cornwall, collecting and seasoning most of the timber he uses for his unique hand carved sculptures, he favours the unique grain and colouration of walnut, yew, plane, and laburnum.
Ralphs carvings have been commissioned by the BBC, RSPB as well as the Wildlife Photographer of the Year Awarding Body.
