John Connolly graduated in 1976 from Derby University and has had a successful career in the arts ever since.

Inspired by the sea, moors and woods,  John’s work is full of drama and emotion, the observer can experience a feeling of peace, remoteness and sense of place.

Painting mostly on location,  John divides his time between his home in Bolsover, Derbyshire and Cornwall and the Scilly Isles.  He likes to incorporate local materials like sand and dried grass to connect his paintings directly to the landscape depicted.  John is also a professional actor and playwright.  We love his vivid, energetic painting’s,  we know you will too.
